CamCut is developed and operated by EdgeCase Labs LLC, a California limited liability company ("we," "our," or "us"). This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information when you use the CamCut mobile application (the "App").
By downloading, installing, or using the App, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this policy.
CamCut is built with a privacy-first approach. Except for the optional CamCut Link notification list described below, we do not collect, transmit, or store:
There is no CamCut account to create and nothing to log in to.
If you choose to enter your email address and tap “Notify me” in the CamCut Link preview, we collect that email address so we can send you news about CamCut Link, an upcoming physical accessory. Joining the list is optional and does not unlock, restrict, or change any App functionality.
We store the email address together with the signup date and the version of CamCut used to join. This information is stored using Cloudflare services and is used only for CamCut Link communications. We do not sell it, use it for cross-company tracking, or share it with advertising networks or data brokers. The network address used for abuse prevention is not retained with the signup.
We retain this information until you opt out or the notification list is retired. You may opt out through the unsubscribe instructions in a CamCut Link email or by contacting edgecase411@gmail.com. We will remove your address from the list.
All video importing, editing, composition, overlay rendering, and export happens entirely on your iPhone. Your footage never leaves your device unless you explicitly share or export it using iOS's standard share sheet.
The App requires access to files you explicitly select (dashcam footage from USB or your device storage) and your Photo Library only if you choose to save exported videos there. We do not access any files you have not deliberately chosen to import.
CamCut uses standard Apple frameworks including AVFoundation, MapKit, and the Photos framework. These frameworks may access Apple services (such as loading map tiles from Apple's servers when a map overlay is used). Any such access is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy, not ours. We do not receive or store any data from these interactions.
CamCut offers an optional one-time purchase ("CamCut Premium") to unlock overlay features. All payment processing is handled entirely by Apple through the App Store. We receive only a cryptographic receipt to verify that a purchase has been made. We do not receive your payment method, billing address, Apple ID, or any financial information.
CamCut is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has used the App in a way that raises privacy concerns, please contact us.
We may update this Privacy Policy as the App evolves. When material changes are made, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
